Egress windows in Englewood
Your Hometown Egress Window Company
Denver Egress Window is based in Englewood, and our showroom is here too. That means you can stop in, open a Tilt & Turn window with your own hands, and look at well finishes side by side before you decide. For Englewood homeowners, it also means the crew installing your window knows these streets and these houses well.
We install complete basement egress systems: the foundation cut, the window, the well and the drainage below it. We also replace tired window wells, add custom grates and covers, install well sump pumps and drain taps, and build basement egress doors and walkouts. Owner Steve Sennett has been doing Denver-area egress work since 2004, and his family has worked in windows for three generations.
Custom grates and covers are on display as well, so you can compare them before choosing.

Local know-how
Englewood's Building Boom and Mid-Century Homes
Englewood sits just south of Denver in the South Platte River valley and incorporated in 1903. Its oldest homes, in the northwest part of the city, date back to the 1910s, but most of Englewood was built during a boom between 1948 and 1960. If your home has a basement that is used mainly for storage or laundry today, it may be a strong candidate for a bedroom, office or family room once it has a proper way out.
One local landmark shows how varied that era was. Arapahoe Acres, built between 1949 and 1957 by Edward Hawkins with architects including Eugene Sternberg, is a neighborhood of Usonian and International Style homes listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Modern lines call for a clean, simple well and a window that suits the design. Whether your house is a 1910s cottage or a 1950s ranch, we tailor the look to fit.

Engineering & permits
Englewood Building Division Permits
In Englewood, building permits come from the Building Division, part of the Community Development Department. Permits submitted after July 31, 2023 are reviewed under the city’s adopted codes, which include the 2021 International Residential Code. We draw plans to that standard and pull the permit for you. A third-party structural engineer details the opening before we cut, and a certified structural engineering firm inspects the finished work and issues an approval letter. The result is a properly permitted, documented egress window that holds up when you sell, refinance or list a basement bedroom.

Egress windows in Englewood: FAQ
My address says Englewood. Will Englewood issue my permit?
Not always. Many homes with an Englewood mailing address are actually in Sheridan, Cherry Hills Village, Greenwood Village, Centennial or unincorporated areas. Each has its own permitting office and rules.
Can I see the windows and wells before I buy?
Yes. Our showroom is in Englewood, so you can look at window styles and well finishes in person and try a Tilt & Turn window yourself.
Which code does Englewood use for egress windows?
Englewood reviews permits submitted after July 31, 2023 under its adopted codes, which include the 2021 International Residential Code. That code sets the minimum opening size, sill height and well dimensions for emergency escape.
How long does an Englewood egress project take?
Plan on scheduling about three to six weeks out, which gives time for engineering and the permit. Once our crew arrives, the work usually takes a day or two on site.
