Egress Windows for Parker Basements
Parker homeowners finish basements for all kinds of reasons: a bedroom for a bigger household, a place for visiting grandparents, a rec room the kids can claim. If anyone will sleep down there, the room needs an emergency escape and rescue opening. An egress window provides that exit, and it changes the feel of the space by letting in real daylight and fresh air.
We take care of the full project, from saw-cutting the foundation to setting the window and well and cleaning up afterward.
For the well, options include Boman Kemp steel and stacked stone, Rockwell and Denali stone-look, Block-Tex and timber terrace designs. We also install custom grates and covers, sump pumps and drain taps, and we build basement egress doors and walkouts.

Local know-how
From Stagecoach Stop to Fast-Growing Town
Parker’s story starts with a stage stop. In 1864 Alfred Butters opened the Pine Grove Way Station, which was later expanded and renamed Twenty Mile House for its distance from Denver. James S. Parker bought it in 1870, and the settlement eventually took his name. The town incorporated in 1981, and Cherry Creek still runs through it on its way north toward Denver.
Growth since incorporation has been steep. Parker counted 5,450 residents in 1990, 23,558 in 2000 and 58,512 in 2020. Whatever the age of your home, the basement usually falls into one of two situations. Some already have a window that only needs to be enlarged and given a proper well, while others need a new opening cut from scratch.
Town of Parker Building Division handles in-town permits
Unincorporated areas like Stonegate go through Douglas County

Engineering & permits
Parker Permits and Engineering, Handled
Inside town limits, the Town of Parker’s Building Division enforces the adopted building, fire, plumbing, mechanical and electrical codes, and its Building Permit Counter can tell homeowners whether a contractor has pulled a permit. Some nearby communities, such as Stonegate, are unincorporated, so permits there go through the Douglas County Building Division instead. We confirm the right office and pull the permit ourselves. Every job also includes a third-party structural engineering detail for the new opening, an inspection by a certified structural engineering firm and a written approval letter, even when engineering is not on the jurisdiction’s list.

Egress windows in Parker: FAQ
Who issues the permit for an egress window in Parker?
For homes inside town limits, the Town of Parker Building Division. Nearby unincorporated areas such as Stonegate fall under the Douglas County Building Division instead. We check your address, prepare the submittal and pull the permit, so you do not have to figure out which office covers your home.
Can you add an egress window where there is no window now?
Yes. We cut new openings in foundation walls all the time, and a third-party structural engineer details each one for your specific wall. The price is the same as enlarging an existing window, so you can choose the location that suits the room rather than the one that already has glass.
What does a Parker egress project cost?
The wall, the window style, the well, access to the work area and local requirements all play a part.
When can the work happen?
Most jobs are scheduled three to six weeks out, and installation takes a day or two at your home. We work all year, so winter is not a reason to wait.
